Kyainseikgyi Township GAD bans gatherings of five or more people in Payathonezu

MAWLAMYAING------Kyainseikgyi Township General Administration Department (GAD) issued an order (1/2023) on January 26th saying that the department banned the gatherings of five or more people in Payathonzu area of Kyainseikgyi Township, Kayin State.

The GAD’s order also reported that some violence makers are now carrying out not only arson attacks on houses and departmental buildings but also disturbance of public security and rule of law.

Moreover, their acts can cause riots and harm safety of people, law enforcement and peaceful existence of villages. That’s why; the Township General Administration Department banned the “ assembly of five or more people in public spaces, rallies, demonstrations by using vehicles[and] delivering public speeches.”

The Township General Administration Department didn’t cancel the previous order No(12/2022) which announced the nightly curfew to 6 p.m. to dawn (5a.m.). The order No(1/2023) started on January 26th to March 25th.

The dwellers said that the armed groups torched the departmental buildings including general administration department and immigration office in Payathonezu of Kyainseikgyi Township, Kayin State, around 10p.m. of January 23rd.
