Throughout its long history, the Chevrolet Corvette has always remained one of the most iconic, recognizable classic car nameplates among enthusiasts of both old and new sports cars. While the new Chevrolet Corvette E-Ray may be grabbing headlines, that isn't to say classic Corvettes, particularly a good barn find, aren't equally exciting.

YouTube channel Logan Did It shows off a recent barn find of a well-preserved 1968 Chevrolet Corvette. The car does not currently run but otherwise appears to be in good condition. Check out the video to see the Corvette return to the light of day and learn about the plans for the car.

1968 Chevrolet Corvette 427 Barn Find

The video starts with a thorough inspection of the barn where the classic Corvette sits and the contents of the space. Unlike most barn finds, this garage isn't particularly messy or dusty though there are a lot of spare parts lying around. In what used to be an old dairy farm, this car has sat for the last eighteen years. For the first time in a long time, it will get the opportunity to roll its tires outside in the light of day, removed from its long-term resting spot.

At present, the hood is off of the car. However, this 1968 corvette has a 435 horsepower, 427 V8 engine with a tri-power carburetor setup. Notably, the Corvette is a 4-speed manual, making it even more noteworthy. This car left the factory with black exterior paint, making it 1 of less than 700 units ever made in that color.

The fact that it is a 4-speed makes it even an even rarer find. Today, the car has red and white paint with some yellow retro accents. The period-correct paint scheme appears to still be in decent condition cosmetically.

Like most desirable classic cars, values for the C3-generation Chevrolet Corvette continue to go up. For a clean restored example, expect to pay at least $50,000-$100,000 according to classic.com

Once the car gets removed from the barn, it requires a push through the gravel and onto the trailer as the mechanical components of the car are all frozen up. The plan is to get it running quickly, the process of which will get shown in future video uploads to the channel. They comment that at one time, this Corvette had a lot of love put into it including side pipes and the custom paint job.
