This 2019 C7 Chevrolet Corvette ZR1 isn’t just any ‘Vette – it’s a custom race car for the road. There’s also a story behind the multicolored ‘rainbow car’ and this project is the brainchild of YouTube channel Street Speed 717, who has many videos dedicated to bringing exciting new cars and projects to a wider audience.

It isn’t all about the C7 Corvette though, and at the start of the video, there is a reminder that the channel is giving away two sports cars in a competition – a Chevrolet Camaro ZL1 and a Chevrolet Corvette Z06.

This isn’t the first time there has been a giveaway either and the channel’s host is on his way to give away another great vehicle to a lucky winner.

A Ram TRX And A Lamborghini Urus Add A Little Awesome To The Proceedings

Next up, Street Speed 717’s host joins in his Lamborghini Urus on the way to pick up the last winners and bring them to their prize: a Ram TRX.

The lucky couple get their ride in the Urus and get treated to some launches and bouts of strong acceleration which impresses greatly; the super-SUV comes as standard with a 4.0-liter twin-turbocharged V8 and 657 hp.

After that, the TRX also impresses with its size, practicality, exhaust note, and acceleration – the truck features a 6.2-liter supercharged V8 with 702 hp, after all.

With the preamble out of the way, Street Speed 717 moves onto the main thrust of the video; the C7 Corvette that is not only a custom machine, but it also features one of the most eye-catching liveries around.

Chevy’s C7 Corvette ZR1 is the track-focused version of that generation Corvette. It is partly based on the Z06 platform which is itself a higher-performance version of the base-trim Stingray.

The ZR1 comes with an upgraded 6.2-liter V8 and 755 hp, it has various other upgrades over the Z06 model, and is a great weapon for track use. However, it will cost you. Currently, the C7 Corvette ZR1 has a value of around $180,000 according to the auction history database Classic.com.

In any case, back to the C7 in the video - the livery present on this 1,000-hp C7 Corvette ZR1 is the work of Street Speed 717, and a vision to mimic the iconic kinds of liveries on historic racing cars, such as the Calsonic Nissan Skyline, the Castrol Toyota Supra, and so on.

They created a colored theme with inspiration from the Call Of Duty video game among other things and ended up with the rainbow effect you see in the screenshots. It’s not the end of the journey for this car though, and with a new powertrain heading its way, it will then get spotted on the racetrack going very quickly indeed, as a Corvette ZR1 always should.
