Super Bowl 2023 NFL predictions for Chiefs vs. Eagles
The Philadelphia Eagles and Kansas City Chiefs will face off in Super Bowl 57 next Sunday, February 12, and both teams will be looking to capture their second Lombardi Trophy in the last six years. Philly took down the New England Patriots in Super Bowl 52, while Kansas City defeated the San Francisco 49ers in Super Bowl 54. These are two squads that played at a high level all season, so it’s no surprise that they’re playing in the Super Bowl.
In our first preview, we discussed how well Philly has played this postseason, as they truly haven’t been pushed in either of their games. They outscored New York and San Francisco 69-14, so it’ll be interesting to see how they react if Kansas City jumps out to an early lead. The biggest key for the Eagles will be limiting their turnovers, and QB Jalen Hurts has done a great job at that this season. Additionally, we think he’ll be looking to get rid of the ball early and often against a Chiefs pass rush that wreaked havoc against the Bengals.
For Kansas City, the key will be piecing together multiple drives against a Philadelphia defense that has looked impenetrable. In the NFC Championship, the Eagles seemed like they were in the 49ers’ backfield nearly every play, and the Chiefs will make it a priority to limit Philly’s front seven. One way to do that is to get the ball out of Patrick Mahomes’ hands as soon as possible, but Kansas City lost JuJu Smith-Schuster, Mecole Hardman and Kadarius Toney in the AFC Championship to injury, so it’s worth monitoring their statuses as we head into next week.
