SPRING LAKE TOWNSHIP, Mich. (WOOD) — A man was seriously injured after being hit by a car Saturday evening on US-31 near Ferrysburg.
It happened at 6:54 p.m. on northbound US-31 near Van Wagoner Road in Spring Lake Township.
The 26-year-old Norton Shores man fled from deputies after they attempted to conduct a traffic stop, according to the Ottawa County Sheriff’s Office.
After crossing the median, the man was hit by a car traveling southbound on US-31.
He was transported to a local hospital with serious injuries, according to the sheriff’s office.
The driver of the other vehicle was not injured.
The northbound and southbound lanes of US-31 between Van Wagoner Road and Taft Street were closed while police investigated, but have since reopened.
