Miller divulged the shocking incident during his appearance on Barkley and Ernie Johnson’s ‘The Steam Room” podcast. While his teammates were playing against the Cincinnati Bengals, Miller was at home nursing an ACL tear that ruled him out for the season.

Miller said, “Football, you kind of get accustomed to people getting hurt and even the serious injuries sometimes.” He called it the ugly side of the game. After Hamlin initially went down, they went to a commercial. But after they returned to the broadcast, Hamil was still down. As the same thing happened again, it made Miller realize that it was something serious.

He discovered on the team’s Whatsapp group that Hamlin had suffered a cardiac arrest. “Damn, this is about life and death,” Miller gasped. He continued, “It’s hard to watch your teammate go through the battle for his life. Him getting carted off and you’re still not sure if he’s gonna make it or not.”

His teammates couldn’t continue the game, and it was eventually canceled. He thanked the Bills organization and the staff for their work throughout the incident. He said, “I just feel honored and privileged to be associated with the Buffalo Bills. I’m very proud of Damar and the way he has handled the situation. It just feels so good when great things happen to good people, man.“

Charles Barkley offered his sympathy as well

Barkley revealed that seeing the players cry made him realize the seriousness of the situation. He said, “To see the look on those guys’ faces was one of the scariest things I’ve ever seen in my life.”

This wasn’t the first time Barkley had spoken up about the incident. However, the last time he went on an unfiltered rant about politics. Miller again praised the Bills’ training staff, including Denny Kellington, who played a major role in saving Hamlin’s life.
