The San Gabriel Valley Tribune/Star-News All-Star Classic for boys and girls basketball will return Saturday at Damien High School after a three-year absence.

The all-star games for the area’s top seniors was supposed to be played in 2020, but it was canceled because of the outbreak of the COVID-19 pandemic and it did not return in 2021 or 2022.

The games in 2019 were played at Pasadena City College, and the Star-News teams swept the Tribune teams. The Star-News and Tribune boys are tied in the series, 8-8. The Star-News girls cut the Tribune’s lead in the series to 9-7 with their victory.
