People, Politics, and Prose: Iraq Against the World

April 11, 2023 | 4:00 pm to 5:00 pm

About the Event

What can post-Cold War Iraqi foreign policy teach us about the current world order? Samuel Helfont joins Ronald J. Granieri in this month's People, Politics, and Prose to discuss Iraq against the World. Helfont and Granieri will discuss new insights into the evolution of the post-Cold War order and why wars in Iraq became a central feature of global politics for the past thirty years.

People, Politics, and Prose with Ron Granieri features in-depth conversations with authors of recent books on international affairs and national security. Moderated by FPRI’s Ronald J. Granieri, each session will build on the book’s contents to discuss the author’s influences and motivations, relating everything to current events to elicit a broader understanding of the geographical, political, and historical context of our contemporary world.
