Tyagbir Hem Baruah (THB) College Students Choose Productive Way of Life

JAMUGURIHAT: The Chief Executive Officer of Kanyaka Multipurpose Agricultural Farm, Niraj Hazarika has played a special role in beekeeping, honey purification, extraction, packaging and opening it for sale to market in association with the students of THB College, a leading higher educational institution in the Sonitpur district.

The students of the institute have become one of the partners in this productive journey. The students of Tyagbir Hem Baruah College were recently seen busy in honey purification, extraction, packaging and other activities in their spare time soon after the students participated in the workshop organized in collaboration with Kanyaka Multipurpose Agricultural Farm and hosted by Tyagbir Hem Baruah College at the conference hall of the college.

At the end of the workshop, a practical session about honey packaging took place. Earlier, Vijay Kataki, supervisor of beekeeping at Kanyaka Multipurpose Agricultural Farm, gave them training on the need for beekeeping and the possibility of self-reliance through beekeeping at the workshop held at the conference hall of the college. He has trained under Hermomd Bishop, the specialist of beekeeping from Netherlands.

The workshop was organized by Tyagbir Hem Baruah College with the objective of improving work skills and guiding self-employment. The workshop was considered to be a positive aspect for the younger generation as the students became aware about beekeeping and related activities.
