Wrexham owners Ryan Reynolds and Rob McElhenney are in line to make their debuts this summer in a seven-a-side tournament with a $1million prize.

The Soccer Tournament will see 32 teams, including the likes of Wrexham, Borussia Dortmund, and West Ham, compete in a winner takes all format. The field will be split into eight groups of four teams each, with the top two teams from each group advancing to the knockout stage.

Wrexham owners Reynolds and McElhenney are named in the squad and they've learned who they will be facing in the groups, which includes a match-up against former Arsenal, Barcelona, Chelsea, and Spain legend Cesc Fabregas, who will be playing for Como 1907.

When is The Soccer Tournament?

The Soccer Tournament will take place between June 1-4 in Cary, North Carolina. Eight different countries will be represented at the tournament.

How can I watch The Soccer Tournament?

All of the tournament's matches will be available on live stream. NBC Sports has also agreed to a deal to show 27 matches live. The final will be live on CNBC and another 26 matches will be exclusively on Peacock. Matches not shown on NBC will be broadcasted on The Soccer Tournament's YouTube channel. It will also be available to watch live on WrexhamPlayer, free of charge to registered subscribers.

When will the fixtures be played?

The group stages will be played on June 1 and 2 and the top two teams from each group will advance to the knockout stages. The round of 16 will also take place on June 2. The quarter-final and semi-final fixtures will then be played a day later on June 3 to determine who will compete for the $1m prize in the final on June 4.

How will Wrexham use the money?

Wrexham have already laid out how they will spend the money should they take home the $1m prize. In a statement, Wrexham advisor Shaun Harvey said: “We look forward to debuting in the US with a legends team and the ambition of winning the tournament.

“Should we be successful, $500,000 of the prize money will be used to enhance the club's work in the local community. Wrexham AFC is more than just a first team. It represents the people of North Wales and this tournament will allow us to incorporate former players of the club like we have never been able to do before.”
