Canada and Poland will closely cooperate in matters of providing necessary defense and other assistance to Ukraine.

This is underscored in the joint statement by Prime Minister Justin Trudeau and Prime Minister Mateusz Morawiecki released by the Office of the Prime Minister of Canada.

“We stand united in our determination to provide Ukraine with the financial, humanitarian, military and diplomatic support it requires, for as long as it takes. Ukraine needs to be able to defend itself against Russia's unjustifiable war of aggression,” reads the statement.

At the same time, Trudeau and Morawiecki call on Russia “to completely and unconditionally withdraw its troops and military equipment from the entire internationally recognized territory of Ukraine.” “Russia must be held accountable for the crimes committed in Ukraine,” the prime ministers stressed.

They also urged Belarus to stop its complicity in Russian aggression which constitutes a blatant violation of international law.

Moreover, Trudeau and Morawiecki pledge to support Ukraine’s trans-Atlantic aspirations on the premise that “Ukraine is an integral part of the Euro-Atlantic community.”
