Tata Power Renewable Energy Limited (TPREL) announced on Monday the commissioning of a 110-MW solar power plant in Bikaner in the Indian state of Rajasthan.

The renewables development arm of Tata Power Co Ltd (BOM:500400) said in a statement that it has had to overcome tough land topography and extreme weather conditions in order to install 259,272 mono bifacial PERC half-cell modules and complete the project within the stipulated seven-month timeframe.

The solar plant can now generate some 211 million kWh of electricity per year and will be selling its output to the Kerala State Electricity Board in the state of Kerala.

TPREL’s total renewables capacity now stands at 6,788 MW, including 4,047 MW of solar and wind in operation and 2,741 MW under various stages of implementation.
