Abraham’s United Silver Sands kicked off the second half of their Barbados Football Association (BFA) Premier League season in sublime fashion last Tuesday evening at the BFA Wildey Turf.
Despite being rooted at the bottom of the table, the lads from the south produced a commendable display to defeat the Barbados Defense Force Sports Programme (BDFSP) 4-1.
The BDFSP began the game in the ascendency, with midfielder Akeem Browne converting a left side cross in the 7th minute.
Derrine Gale-Forde scored the first of his two goals in the 17th minute, after strike partner Dante McClean generously passed the ball to him to score into an open goal.
Three minutes after the break Devene Gale-Forde sent Silver Sands ahead, with a confident finish from inside the penalty area, after being played through one-on-one with goalkeeper Terry Smith.
McClean extended Silver Sands lead in the 58th minute when he scored from the penalty spot.
bfa pDerrine Gale-Forde wrapped up an impressive performance for Silver Sands in the 60th minute when he scored their fourth and final goal from just inside the BDFSP penalty area.
The victory did not changed much in the standings as Silver Sands remain bottom of the table, now on six points, and the BDFSP is just ahead of them with nine points.
