Powerball, Mega Millions jackpots climb

COLUMBIA, S.C. (WIS) - No one has won a Mega Millions or Powerball jackpot in quite some time.

The Mega Millions jackpot reached more than half a million ― $563 million ― on Tuesday night.

That’s the eight largest Mega Millions jackpot, according to the South Carolina Lottery.

The Mega Millions lottery will draw on Tuesday at 11 p.m. Tickets cost $2 and can be purchased up until 10 p.m.

The odds of winning on Tuesday night is about 1 in 303 million, the South Carolina Lottery said in a news release.

The Powerball for Wednesday evening will reach $412 million. Wednesday’s drawing will take place at 11 p.m. and tickets can be purchased up to an hour beforehand.

The odds of winning on Wednesday is 1 in 293 million.
