From the sidelines: You cannot say Federal Way Track and Field without mentioning and thinking about the University of Oregon signee Cassandra Atkins. Cassie, as known by her teammates, is the 2x State Champion in the triple jump and defending state champion in the long jump. She helped pace her Girls Track and Field team to a third-place state finish as she won the Long Jump, Triple Jump, 2nd place in the 200m and 2nd place in the 4x100m relay. Cassie is nationally ranked in the jumps allowing her to receive a full ride scholarship to Oregon. Cassie is also a scholar. Her rigorous course load in Cambridge classes in impressive. This season, look for Cassie to add to her long list of accomplishments in the long jump, triple jump, 200m and the 4x100m.
