NETFLIX fans have revealed their shock after learning The Gentlemen star Theo James' real name.
The High Wycombe-born actor, 39, shot to fame playing Four in The Divergent film series.
He has now bagged a fresh role in Guy Ritchie series The Gentlemen - yet eagle-eyed Netflix fans were stunned to realise he doesn't go under his actual moniker.
Theo, who plays Eddie Halstead in the dark drama, was born Theodore Peter James Kinnaird Taptiklis.
He uses Theo James for his professional name, hence why viewers may not have seen his real surname before.
The plotline, which spans eight episodes, sees Eddie inherit his father's 15,000 acre estate.
Yet he then discovers the family's fortune rests on a marijuana operation run by a father-daughter duo.
Talking of his new role, he told The Guardian: "The central conceit is that old-world Britannia is on its last breath.
"And the crumbling house, this crumbling dukedom, is underpinned by criminality.
"On the face of it you have the upper class winning.

"But underneath that, ultimately, they’re controlled by organised crime, which is obviously the other end of the spectrum in terms of class. So it’s subverting that."

He then featured in hilarious comedy The Inbetweeners Movie before playing David in the thrilling Underworld Awakening, starring Kate Beckinsale and Michael Ealy, a year later.

He then reprised his role as David in the Underworld sequel Blood Wars in 2016, while also bagging parts in movies such as London Fields, How It Ends, Lying and Stealing and The Benefactor.
In 2019, Theo was cast as Sidney Parker in the ITV series Sanditon.
He then played "cocky finance bro" Cameron in the second series of The White Lotus before securing his current role.
