Hollywood star Cameron Diaz and musician Benji Madden have welcomed a baby boy to their family this week.
The actress, 51, announced the birth of her second child with husband Benji, 45, in a post on their shared Instagram account, revealing that they have named the new addition Cardinal.
Cameron rose to fame as the star of The Holiday, Gangs of New York and Bad Teacher. She also voiced Princess Fiona in the Shrek movies.
Hubby Benji is lead guitarist and backing vocalist for the American rock band Good Charlotte.
The pair welcomed their second child this week, announcing Cardinal’s arrival – following a secret pregnancy – via a post on Instagram.
‘We are blessed and excited,’ the pair wrote on their Instagram accounts, tagging each other in the post. ‘He is awesome and We are all so happy he is here!’

Little Cardinal is the second of Cameron and Benji’s children. They also have a four-year-old daughter, named Raddix.
Raddix was born via a surrogate in December 2019 – reportedly after years of fertility treatment.
As with baby Cardinal, the pair have remained private where their daughter is concerned – announcing Raddix’s birth via an Instagram post in January 2020.
‘I love being a mother. It’s the best, best, best part of my life,’ the star told Entertainment Tonight in 2020.
When did Cameron Diaz and Benji Madden start dating?
The Hollywood actress and the rockstar began dating in 2014, after being introduced by socialite Nicole Richie, 42.
Nicole is married to Benji’s twin brother and Good Charlotte bandmate Joel Madden.
From there, it was a whirlwind romance before their wedding the following year.

Cameron and Benji married shortly after meeting, in 2015. The pair were wed in a private ceremony at their Beverly Hills home.
During his wedding speech, Benji revealed that he had asked to be put in charge of only two things: ‘The music and the cake.’
The newlyweds celebrated with friends and family in a giant marquee which had been especially erected in their garden for the event.
Since marrying, Cameron has revealed her secret to a happy marriage – which includes separate bedrooms for husband and wife!
Speaking on an Molly Sims’ podcast Lipstick on the Rim, she said she thinks that society ‘should normalise separate bedrooms.’
‘I would literally have my house, you have yours, and we have the family house in the middle,’ she said.
‘I will go and sleep in my room, you go sleep in your room. I’m fine!’
She went on to say they could have a ‘bedroom in the middle that we convene in for, you know.’
Despite this, Cameron does share a room with husband Benji and insists this was how she felt ‘before I got married … my husband is so wonderful.’
After apparently retiring from the limelight in 2014, Cameron has returned to the screen with her first movie in ten years.
She stepped back from acting to concentrate on her family, citing the need to take some time for herself as a person and not just ‘Cameron Diaz the machine.’
Announcing her comeback in 2022, Cameron will star in the aptly-named Netflix action-comedy Back In Action, alongside Jamie Foxx.
