PORT WASHINGTON — Ozaukee County Sheriff Christy Knowles last week recognized deputies Brian Matthiesen, Jonathan Chang, Chelsey Norin and William Truby and registered nurse Nicole Walker for their lifesaving efforts in response to a medical emergency in G-Dorm at the Ozaukee County Jail, where an inmate experienced an overdose and became pulseless and was not breathing.

Walker and the deputies worked together to provide CPR to the inmate for approximately 10 minutes. After several rounds and rotations of chest compressions and three doses of Narcan, the inmate started to respond and breathe on his own again.
