GRAND RAPIDS, Mich. (WOOD) – Consumers Energy is constantly working to improve reliability when it comes to providing national gas and electricity to its millions of customers in Michigan. Greg and Chris join us to talk about a new pilot program that will help improve circuits in areas with dense trees, to help reduce power outages.

Consumers Energy will bury 10 miles of overhead power lines across six Michigan counties (Genesee, Livingston, Allegan, Ottawa, Montcalm, and Losco) in the next year. This $3.7 million pilot program will target circuits with frequent, lengthy outages and located in areas with dense trees, which are often responsible for the outages.
