LITTLE ROCK, Ark. – Stops at local gas stations paid off for two Arkansas lottery players after they won $50,000 on instant games.

Little Rock resident Britney C. won her prize on a $20 scratch off ticket sold at Kwik Check III on Geyer Springs.

Officials with the Arkansas Scholarship Lottery said that Britney purchased the ticket from the bin labeled “10” since her birthday is March 10. She would later find out that she made the right pick.

“I was sitting on the floor, on my knees,” Britney said.

After finding out that she had purchased a winning ticket, lottery officials said that she is looking forward to paying off her vehicle, going back to school and saving money for her children. She is also working toward buying a new home.

Another player, Tony M. of Mabelvale, struck gold on his third attempt of purchasing a $20 scratch off ticket at the Bauxite Food Mart.

Lottery officials said Tony is a daily lottery player and makes a routine of buying three $20 tickets. Little did he know, he would become $50,000 richer.

He won $20 from his first ticket, $50 for his second ticket and the $50,000 top prize from his third ticket.

ASL officials said that Tony plans to make one purchase with his prize and give the rest to his wife.

“I told her, ‘Whatever you want to do,’” he said, laughing.

There are currently six remaining top prizes on the $50,000 Blast instant game.

A LOTTO ticket was recently sold for the March 27 drawing. The ticket was purchased at Phillips 66 South Bend on 4071 Highway 294 in Jacksonville. ASL officials said that the winner has 180 days from the draw date to claim their prize.

Lottery officials also mentioned that a $50,000 Powerball ticket was sold in Monday’s night drawing.
