Former US President Donald Trump has made a stunning claim that President Joe Biden was on drugs while delivering his State of the Union address last month. He demanded a debate with him and called for a drug test at such events.

During an appearance on conservative radio show host Hugh Hewitt’s show on Thursday, Trump said, "I think what happened is, you know, that white stuff that they happened to find, which happened to be cocaine in the White House. I don’t know, I think something’s going on there."

"I watched his State of the Union, and he was all jacked up at the beginning. By the end, he was fading fast. There’s something going on there," he said.

When asked whether Trump was insinuating that Biden used cocaine, Trump said "he did not know" what the latter was using and asserted that "he was higher than a kite".

He continued, saying, "I want to debate. And I think debates, with him, at least, should be drug tested. I want a drug test."

"But he’s obviously, he’s being helped in some way, because most of the time, he looks like he’s falling asleep. And all of a sudden, he walked up there and did a poor job. But he was all jacked up," he claimed.

Trump, who is the Republican presidential candidate, and is set for a November re-match with Biden on November 5, did not provide any evidence to substantiate his allegations.

This is not the first time that Trump has made bizarre claims about his opponents using drugs.

During campaigning for the 2016 presidential election, Trump claimed that his Democrat challenger, Hillary Clinton, was ingesting performance-enhancing drugs. When pressed about the reason for making such a claim, Trump said he was "not joking".

Ironically, Trump himself was in the eye of a storm when he was seen repeatedly sniffing during a presidential debate in 2016. That sniffing led to accusations from some people that the Republican leader could be taking cocaine.

Former Democratic presidential candidate Howard Dean and actor Carrie Fisher claimed that Trump was on drugs due to his repeated sniffing at the 2016 debate.
