BATON ROUGE, La. (WAFB) - A lucky $50,000 Powerball ticket winner in the Baton Rouge area is running out of time to claim his or her prize.

Louisiana Lottery officials said the winning ticket will expire on Thursday, May 9. The winner has until 5 p.m. on that date to claim the prize.

The winning ticket was purchased at the Speedy Mart on South Harrells Ferry Road in Baton Rouge, and the $50,000 prize was won during the Powerball drawing on Nov. 11, 2023.

According to lottery officials, the winning ticket matched four of five white ball numbers and the red Powerball. The winning numbers on Nov. 11, 2023, were 1, 12, 14, 24, and 57. The Powerball number was 7.

“We look forward to the winner coming forward to claim this prize. In the meantime, the individual should treat the ticket as cash,” said lottery president Rose Hudson. “It is also a good idea to sign the back of the ticket for security purposes.”

The prize must be claimed at the Louisiana Lottery headquarters in Baton Rouge or at one of the lottery’s five regional offices throughout the state. The winner must present the original printed ticket when claiming the prize.

If the prize remains unclaimed by the deadline, the money will be deposited into the lottery’s unclaimed prize fund and will then be returned to players in the form of increased payouts.
