The person who bought a $50,000 Louisiana Lottery Powerball ticket last fall at a convenience store in Baton Rouge has until May 9 to claim the prize, the lottery corporation said Monday.

The ticket was purchased on Nov. 11, 2023 at the Speedy Mart on South Harrell's Ferry Road. It matched four of the five numbers drawn for that day -- 1, 12, 14, 24 and 57 -- as well as the Powerball number, 7.

"We look forward to the winner coming forward to claim this prize," Lottery President Rose Hudson said in a news release. "In the meantime, the individual should treat the ticket as cash. It's a good idea to sign the back of the ticket for security reasons."

The holder of the winning ticket has until 5 p.m. on Thursday, May 9 to claim their prize by presenting the original ticket at one of the Lottery's five regional offices located throughout the state or at the lottery's headquarters in Baton Rouge.

If the ticket isn't claimed in time, the money goes into the Lottery's unclaimed prize fund, boosting payouts on instant-win games and player promotions.
