TOPEKA (KSNT) – A person in northeast Kansas is $1 million richer this month after purchasing a lucky Mega Millions lottery ticket.

The Kansas Lottery reports on its website that someone bought a ticket with a prize value of $1,001,500 in the northeast Kansas area on April 9. As of April 11, this ticket has yet to be claimed. This region includes the following counties:

  • Nemaha
  • Brown
  • Doniphan
  • Riley
  • Pottawatomie
  • Jackson
  • Atchison
  • Geary
  • Wabaunsee
  • Shawnee
  • Jefferson
  • Leavenworth
  • Wyandotte
  • Johnson
  • Osage
  • Douglas
  • Franklin
  • Miami
  • Morris
  • Lyon (northern half)

Two people are marked as big winners in the last Mega Millions drawing, according to its website. They purchased tickets in Kentucky and Kansas that met the “Match 5” numbers. The latest winning numbers for this drawing are 34-43-51-52-69 and a “Mega Ball” of 25.

The next Mega Millions drawing is at 10 p.m. on Friday, April 12. The next estimated jackpot is $120 million with a cash option of $55.8 million. For more information on where to buy tickets or how to play, click here.
