Apple TV+ has a packed library of shows and films that you won’t be able to watch anywhere else. The iPhone company has poured money into original content, commissioning big-budget shows like Severance, Ted Lasso, Slow Horses, Lessons In Chemistry, and Foundation, to name a few.

Films like the Academy Award-winning CODA, Killers Of The Flower Moon, Napoleon, documentary Billie Eilish: The World’s A Little Blurry, and epic Napoleon ―currently playing in cinemas ― are exclusive to the streamer too. If you want to continue watching after the free trial, you’ll need to pay £8.99 per month.

Hayu launched on Sky Glass and Sky Stream late last year. Both of these devices, which launched five years after Sky Q hit the market, are powered by EntertainmentOS — a new operating system built from the ground up to juggle streaming services like Netflix, Prime Video, and Hayu, with a traditional EPG (Electronic Program Guide), and fitness and music streaming apps available on the platform.

The older Sky Q box runs on a separate operating system. Integrating the streaming service with this older platform explains the six-month gap between Hayu arriving on Sky Glass and Sky Stream, and making its way onto the satellite dish-powered Q. Hayu arrived on the platform earlier this month.

For those who don't know, Hayu is a popular streaming service dedicated to reality telly, with the likes of The Real Housewives, Below Deck, Vanderpump Rules, andMillion Dollar Listing New York all available to watch.

The streamer launched seven years ago with a singular focus on bringing popular US reality television shows to UK fans as quickly as possible. Before the streamer made its debut, fans of shows like Keeping Up With The Kardashians would need to wait days before the latest episode would drop arrive on UK channels.

That would lead to fans stumbling upon spoilers on social media, creating huge frustration. It would also incentivise piracy since fans would have to wait weeks to see the episodes that were being discussed by US fans and written about extensively in US publications.

It's a similar problem that led to Sky Atlantic broadcasting episodes of must-see shows like Game of Thrones, Succession, and House of the Dragon at 2am in the UK — the same time the latest episodes were being watched in the United States.

Subscribers to Hayu are still able to watch the latest episodes of (mostly) American reality shows and true crime documentaries within 24 hours of their release on cable television in North America.

For a limited time, Sky VIP users can download and keep Mamma Mia! Here We Go Again from the Sky Store. If you're not a Sky VIP member, this film costs £7.99 to download in High Definition (HD).

This isn’t a rental — the digital movie will be yours to keep forever.

For those who don't know, the jukebox musical is a direct sequel to the blockbuster hit Mamma Mia! starring Meryl Streep, Amanda Seyfried, Pierce Brosnan, and Colin Firth.

First released back in 2018, the film is set five years after the events of the first film, it follows Amanda Seyfried’s Sophie as prepares for the grand reopening of the Hotel Bella Donna and the arrival of her first child. Lily James stars as a young Donna (as portrayed by Meryl Streep in the first movie) back in 1979, with many scenes from the two timelines mirroring one another.

It includes ABBA songs such as When I Kissed the Teacher, Waterloo, The Name of the Game, Knowing Me, Knowing You, Angel Eyes, Dancing Queen, Fernando, and Super Trouper, to name just a few.

The movie was directed by Ol Parker (writer of The Best Exotic Marigold Hotel and director of Ticket To Paradise) from a story by himself, Catherine Johnson (who wrote the original West End musical) and romantic-comedy maestro Richard Curtis.

Films from the Sky Store can be watched on Sky Q, Sky Stream, or Sky Glass hardware. You can also stream from your iPhone, iPad or Android using the Sky Store app. You can also watch via the Sky Store website on Windows and Mac devices too. Roku and LG Smart TVs are also compatible.

Unfortunately, if you’re not a fan of the music of ABBA or already own Mamma Mia! Here We Go Again, you’re not able to swap this freebie for another film. But as mentioned above, if you’ve only just registered as a Sky VIP member, you’ll be able to download one free film of your choice from the Sky Store.
