BSF fells Pak drone with 3 kg heroin worth 13cr
Jaisalmer: Jawans of Border Security Force (BSF) foiled yet another attempt to smuggle heroin by shooting down a Pakistani drone on Tuesday. The drone had entered Indian territory at the international border near Anoopgarh in Ganganagar.
Following the incident, BSF conducted a joint search operation with police on Wednesday morning and recovered 3 packets of 2.616 kg heroin in the search operation worth Rs 13 crore in the international market.
A case has been registered under sections of NDPS Act.
Sources said that continuous nefarious attempts are being made by Pakistan to smuggle drugs through drones from across the border but every attempt is being foiled by alert BSF jawans.
With the Lok Sabha Election round the corner, a team of NCB has been stationed in the Sriganganagar area to conduct surveillance and joint operations with BSF along the Indo-Pakistan international border axis in Rajasthan. TNN
