MAKING MOVIES (no sponsor) Poster - 1

The Emporia Granada Theatre is set to showcase Making Movies, a fusion band blending Latin American Afro beat rhythms, on Saturday, May 11.

Promising an evening of dynamic music, Making Movies will bring their unique sound to the historic venue, offering audiences an opportunity to experience a blend of cultural influences.

Making Movies, described as a psychedelic Panamanian band, aims to merge the spirit of Latin folk music with contemporary sounds. With collaborations with musicians like Ruben Blades and performances at major international festivals, Making Movies has garnered global recognition. The debut of “En La Sala,” a live concert film and album recorded at Kansas City’s Folly Theater, underscores their dedication to sharing their music with a wider audience.

In addition to their musical endeavors, Making Movies is spearheading AMERI’KANA TV, a documentary series funded by the NEA, exploring an alternate history of American music.

Making Movies will hit the stage at 7 p.m. May 11 at the Emporia Granada Theatre, 807 Commercial St. Tickets, priced between $25 to $35 each, are available for purchase online at www.emporiagranada.com, at the Emporia Granada Theatre Box Office, or by calling 620-342-3342.
