WAYNESBORO, Va. (WHSV) - Waynesboro Public Schools tabbed Shonn Bell as its next head football coach at Waynesboro High School.

Bell’s coaching career spans fourteen years between varsity football and track. In addition, Bell played collegiately at the University of Virginia at Wise and even had stints in the NFL, most notably with the San Francisco 49ers.

“Coach Bell will be a great asset for WHS and Waynesboro Public Schools,” said Waynesboro High Athletic Director Jake Peeling. “He is someone I think can inspire our athletes to greatness, instill discipline, and foster a culture of teamwork and resilience. He is not just a football coach but someone who possesses the ability to cultivate character, both on and off the field.”

Bell succeeds Brandon Jarvis, who stepped down in February.
