WARSAW April 19, 2024 (Saba) - Poland announced last night that it was unable to supply Ukraine with Patriot air defense systems.
Polish Prime Minister Donald Tusk told reporters after the end of the European Council meeting: “As you know, Germany set an example by transferring the Patriot system back to Ukraine, and called on countries with similar capabilities to also join this initiative, and this does not apply, we currently do not have enough Patriot missiles capable of participating."
At the same time, Tusk said that the Dutch authorities are ready to finance the purchase of the Patriot system for Ukraine.
He continued: "The Netherlands has already announced at least its desire to purchase if someone wants to sell such a system, and the Netherlands is prepared to finance this purchase from its own funds."
Earlier, German Chancellor Olaf Scholz said, “Germany will provide Ukraine with another Patriot system, and he expressed his hope that NATO countries will be able to supply Ukraine with six other Patriot systems.”
