NORTHAMPTON, Mass. (WWLP) – Heavy rain last week led to some river flooding across parts of western Massachusetts.

The good news is that river levels continue to come down. Last week parts of western Massachusetts picked up more than 2 inches of rain. That caused rivers like the Mill River to rise above its banks. Some minor flooding led to some temporary road closures in Florence.

Flooding also occurred along the Connecticut River last weekend as well. The Skyview22 drone flew over the Connecticut River at the Oxbow Marina in Northampton and you can see the river has come down quite a bit. The field that is typically under water when it floods is dry and most of the docks are in pretty good condition.

You should still try and avoid area rivers because the water is very cold right now and there are still some very swift currents as well.
