MACOMB COUNTY, Mich. (WJW) — A pizza worth $2 million? Sounds a bit cheesy, but one woman recently went out to pick up a pizza for dinner, and came home a lot richer after also purchasing a scratch off lottery ticket.

The woman told the Michigan Lottery that’s not part of her routine, and that her husband is the one who normally buys tickets.

“While I was waiting for my pizza, I sat in my car and scratched the ticket,” the woman told the lottery. “It was surreal when I realized I’d won $2 million. I called my husband to tell him the big news because I was so excited. I couldn’t wait until I got home!”

The $2,000 Large instant game ticket was bought at Party Palace Liquor in Shelby Township (about 40 minutes north of Detroit).

The woman, who wanted to remain anonymous, chose the lump sum option, which ended up being $1.3 million. She told the Michigan Lottery she plans to take a vacation and pay bills with the infusion of funds.
