At 7:35 a.m. (April 23) Invermere Fire Rescue (IFR) was dispatched to an area of Industrial Road 2 for reports of several vehicles on fire.

Upon arrival it was discovered that seven stored vehicles along with one cube van containing housewares were smouldering, and that fire had also moved into the surrounding treed areas, IFR reported on social media this afternoon.

Crews were able to quickly contain and extinguish all areas.

Eight IFR members with four apparatus attended the incident, along with Columbia Valley RCMP.

No injuries were reported. The cause of the fire is under investigation.
