Ex-Spartiates MP Floros physically assaulted Greek Solution’s Grammenos in the Parliament, gets arrested (photos) (Upd.)

Grammenos provoked Floros with obscene insults

An unprecedented incident involving former Spartiates MP, who has since become independent, Konstantinos Floros, occurred Wednesday morning in Parliament, with reports indicating that he physically assaulted Greek Solution party MP Vasilis Grammenos.

As seen in photos from Eurokinissi, other MPs attempted to stop Konstantinos Floros. In other frames, MP Grammenos is recorded after the attack.

According to reports, the unprecedented incident stems from a feud between the Greek Solution party and Konstantinos Floros.

Today in the plenary session of the Parliament, the request for lifting the parliamentary immunity of Kyriakos Velopoulos was being discussed following a lawsuit filed by the father of MP Floros regarding anonymous Twitter accounts that insult him.

While the representative of the Greek Solution party, Chitas, announced support for lifting immunity, although Mr. Velopoulos is not related to the lawsuit, Mr. Floros interjected and stated that the court would judge that.

After this intervention, MPs from the Greek Solution party began to verbally abuse Konstantinos Floros. Reports indicate that Vasilis Grammenos said to the independent MP, “I’ll f*** your mother, I’ll send you to prison with ankle bracelets,” to which Konstantinos Floros responded, “come out here and say that to my face.” The two men then met in the vestibule, with Konstantinos Floros grabbing Vasilis Grammenos by the collar, punching him, and throwing him down.

After the incident, the Greek Solution party MP was taken to the Parliament’s infirmary, where he received first aid.

After the incident, the President of the Parliament, Konstantinos Tasoulas, ordered the removal of Konstantinos Floros from the parliament with the assistance of the security, while proposing to the assembly a 15-day suspension of the independent MP from all parliamentary activities, although, no penalty was given to Grammenos for initiating the feud.

Mr. Tasoulas intervened at the moment when Mr. Floros continued his unruly behavior, as when Kyriakos Velopoulos took the floor in the plenary session to report the attack, the independent MP appeared at the entrance of the chamber shouting that the attack was justified as they had insulted his mother.
