Fresh local music whenever you want it. Updated weekly by apt613.ca music writers. It’s like New Music Friday but for #ottmusic and we release on Wednesday. Basically the same thing. Add our playlist on Spotify!

The weather’s changing, slowly but surely and so is our mood. If we close our eyes, we can almost feel that summer breeze and the call of the dance floor. In the meantime, replicate that wild abandon with this week’s fresh Ottawa picks.

“Mon Aura” by Mecca of Stank

It’s Latin night at the local French disco! Slow, seductive and pulling from multiple jazz and funk inspirations, “Mon Aura” is the perfect soundtrack for a night brimming with possibility. Listen and be transported to the dreamiest of landscapes.

“Brave in My Arms” by chemical club

This indie-pop track is a balm for the senses. Through understated lyrics, it narrates the worthwhile quest for self love amidst broken relationships and demanding social norms. This had me grooving and reflecting all at once.

“Cinéma” by De Flore

Beautiful French psychedelic disco; it’s some of Ottawa’s tightest music production at the moment. “Cinéma” is from De Flore’s newest EP release, “Slow Motion Baby”.
