The 2024 NFL Draft is right around the corner, an anticipated sporting event for football fans and a life-changing opportunity for players hoping to transition their careers from college to pro football.

Entering its 89th year, the NFL Draft has switched up its format since its inaugural event in 1936. This year, the draft consists of seven rounds of picks with 32 picks made in each round, totaling over 250 picks involving every team in the league.

Teams will have 10 minutes to select players in the first round, of which the Bears have the first overall pick this year. This marks the third time the Chicago team had the first overall pick and the first time since selecting Bob Fenimore in 1947.

The Jets have pick No. 257, the final spot in the draft. The person selected with that pick is known as "Mr. Irrelevant," though some players who've previously been deemed the nickname — like reigning NFC Champion Brock Purdy — have proved to reverse the title.

This year's draft class is stacked with talent, particularly boasting an impressive number of wide receivers in addition to quarterbacks who are expected to be selected within the top 10 in the first overall round. Eyes are on USC's QB Caleb Williams, in addition to WRs like Ohio State's Marvin Harrison Jr. and LSU's Malik Nabers.
