Ole Miss baseball score updates vs. Alabama: Rebels host Crimson Tide for SEC series
David EckertOle Miss baseball will be out to make its home games count and score a vital series win when it welcomes Alabama to Swayze Field for a three-game set beginning Thursday.
The Rebels (22-18, 6-12 SEC) are 16-8 at home this season, and it's where four out of their six SEC wins have come, too. They enter this game on a miniature, two-game winning streak, having salvaged the final game of their series with Georgia and beaten North Alabama in midweek.
Alabama (26-15, 7-11) comes into this series after losing two out of three games to Texas A&M last weekend. The Crimson Tide took care of Samford on Tuesday.

Game 1: Alabama 12, Ole Miss 0
The Rebels allowed nine runs in the fourth inning in a run-rule loss to open the series. Riley Maddox didn't make it out of the fourth. Neither did dual-sport athlete Austin Simmons, who came in and threw four pitches before leaving with an apparent injury.
Game 2: Ole Miss 9, Alabama 8
The Rebels won a slugfest to restore parity in this must-win series. The decisive blows came with the game tied at 7 in the sixth inning, when Ethan Lege and Will Furniss slugged back-to-back home runs to put Ole Miss ahead 9-7. That was one of four hits, and three extra-base hits, on the night for Furniss. The Rebels got 4.2 innings of two-run ball from Liam Doyle and pieced together the rest of the game with their bullpen.
Game 3: Alabama 10, Ole Miss 3
Mason Nichols returned from injury to give Ole Miss four innings of strong work to start, but that ends the list of positives. The Rebels' bullpen imploded, their defense faltered, and they failed to hit the ball in the air and take advantage of strong winds blowing out to left field all afternoon.
