Renewables developer Enfinity Global Inc announced today it has closed USD 195 million (EUR 181.9m) in long-term financing for a 70-MW solar power plant in Japan.

The financing supports a recently completed solar park in the northern prefecture of Aomori, which is part of the 250-MW photovoltaic (PV) portfolio Enfinity Global owns in Japan.

The Aomori facility is expected to generate more than 75 GWh of clean energy per year, enough to power 11% of Aomori City’s residential energy demand, or some 15,600 households.

“We are committed to supporting Japan’s plan to become carbon neutral by 2050 by leveraging our global capabilities and being a long-term investor. We appreciate the confidence of our financing partners, Nomura and Aozora”, said Carlos Domenech, CEO of Enfinity Global.

Nomura Securities International Inc acted as the initial lead arranger/sole bookrunner for the long-term financing while Japanese lender Aozora Bank (TYO:8304) was the lead arranger/agent.
