Briony, took to the BBC airwaves on Thursday to try and help retired social worker Jan find her dream home.

The Escape To The Country contributor was looking for her dream country abode 200 miles across the country as the animal lover wanted a change in her life.

Escape To The Country host Jules Hudson floored by most expensive budget in BBC show's history - and it doesn't end well

She raised three children in the same time and lived in her Warwickshire home in Leamington Spa for nearly all her life.

Jan had a budget of £280,000 and she was looking for a propety which featured two bedrooms and a large garden to accomodate all her animals.

For her, this was a "now or never" decision as she headed to south-west Wales to look at properties in the Pembrokeshire region.

Briony brought jan to a traditional country cottage that was initially built in the 1800's and was converted in the 70's.

The kitchen had both a modern section and an older style to it which led Jan to express shock just moments after stepping across the threshold.

She said: "It takes my breath away!", before her accompanying friend Di pointed out a certain dish feature in the corner.

Upon her first look at the assembled dog bowls, Jan couldn't help but get emotional as she broke down in tears.

Briony was left scrambling as she attempted to comfort the programme's guest.

The contributor apologised for continuing to cry as Briony exclaimed: "I should have brought my tissues!"

She also insisted that her reaction was a good thing as she admitted: "It's such an important thing to have an emotional reaction like that because this is going to be your home."

The home included a huge garden for all her creatures and the configuration of the bedrooms seemed to be the perfect fit for Jan.

Jan was dreading the next section of the programme as she predicted the Tegryn home might be up to £10,000 over what she was looking to spend.

She was then left utterly relieved after the 'mean' part of the programme as Briony confirmed the stunning property was £5,000 under her budget.

After all four properties were considered, Briony revealed to viewers that Jan did put an offer in on the traditional country cottage in the end and it was accepted by the seller.
