CHARLOTTE, N.C. (QUEEN CITY NEWS) – A Charlotte store owner who bought a $20 scratch-off at his own store scored big, North Carolina Lottery officials announced Friday.

Charlotte resident Praful Shah purchased the $20 scratch-off from the Derita BP Amoco station on West Sugar Creek Road.

Shas will take home $858,006 after taxes and claimed his prize on Thursday. The alternative was to get $100,000 a year for 20 years or a lump sum of $1.2 million.

Shah won the last $2 million prize and the game will end in light of that, lottery officials said.
