A policing team discovered three cannabis factories this week. South Wales Police said Rhondda neighbourhood officers found grows in Tylerstown, in Ferndale, Tonypandy and Porth, with somewhere between 210-270 plants seized between them.

A spokesperson for South Wales Police said on Facebook: "These factories were located in the heart of our communities and without the support and assistance of residents they could have remained undetected. The invaluable information provided by members of public and the swift response by officers and Western Power, has undoubtedly prevented any risk or harm to adjacent buildings or individuals accessing the sites.

"Cannabis supply is not a harmless crime; its production is often linked to organised criminals and the exploitation of vulnerable people. We encourage anyone with information in relation to possible cannabis cultivation to report it to us, either via one of the reporting methods in the link below, in person to your local neighbourhood policing team, or 100% anonymously via Crimestoppers Wales."
