However, after Perry asked Khan to reinstate him and work together moving forward, the ruse quickly became apparent.

Perry punched Khan in the gut, prompting The Young Bucks and Kazuchika Okada to calm tensions in the ring.

But after Khan got back up and things appeared to calm, The Bucks leaped into action, spiking Khan into the mat.

The attack left Khan down on the mat, with the officials as well as his father and Jacksonville Jaguars owner Shad, quickly rushing to his aid.

Fast forward to Thursday, and the first round of the NFL Draft, which saw Jacksonville eventually pick 23rd overall, after trading their 17th pick to the Minnesota Vikings.

While on the clock, NFL Network and ESPN cut to the Jaguars' Draft room.

Sitting front and center was Khan, wearing a neckbrace as his father sat smiling behind him.

"Tony Khan becomes the first ever NFL executive in a draft room, shaking off the effects of a piledriver he received on national television in a wrestling ring the night before," commented NFL network's Rich Eisen.

"Such is life when you mix AEW and the NFL. Tony Khan, hang in there buddy."

Khan's appearance on-air prompted a variety of responses from fans on X, formerly known as Twitter, with some fans concerned while others spotted a glaring issue.
