Four people have been arrested and cannabis worth €300,000 has been seized by gardaí in Co Limerick.

The men are aged in their 30s, 40s and 60s and were arrested at the scene after a search in the Clare Street area of Limerick city today.

Gardaí said the searches were carried out by the Limerick divisional drug unit with support from members of the Regional Armed Support Unit.

Cash totalling €10,000, along with 30 cannabis plants and approximately 15kg of the drug with a combined estimated value of €300,000 was seized.

The seized drugs are to be sent for further analysis by Forensic Science Ireland.

Gardaí said investigations are ongoing and the men are under arrest at garda stations in Limerick.
