Delhi Traffic Advisory Issued for Lok Sabha Elections 2024 Training Programme; Check Details

A traffic advisory has been issued for a training programme at Delhi Technological University on April 28, 2024, causing traffic restrictions from 7:00 AM to 7:00 PM.

Delhi: On April 28, Delhi Technological University (DTU) in Shahbad Daulatpur, Delhi, is set to host a training programme for officials involved in the Lok Sabha Elections 2024. As a result, certain traffic restrictions will be implemented in the area from 7:00 AM to 7:00 PM on the same day.
To ensure smooth traffic management and uninterrupted travel for commuters, the Delhi Traffic Police have issued the following advisory:
- Commuters travelling from the S.B Dairy side towards DTU/S.P Badli metro are advised to make a right turn at St. Xavier's red light and proceed via K.N Katju Marg to reach their destinations.
- Those travelling from S.P Badli Metro/Sec.18 & 19, Rohini sides towards S.B Dairy should take a left turn from Sec.16 Rohini to access K.N Katju Marg. They can then make a U-turn on K.N Katju Marg to reach their destinations.
Additionally, trainees attending the programme are urged to park their vehicles at Swarn Jayanti Park, Sector 10 Rohini, and utilise the Park and Ride facility to reach Delhi Technological University.
The advisory aims to facilitate efficient traffic flow and minimise disruptions during the training programme. Delhi Traffic Police encourage commuters to plan their journeys in advance and adhere to the specified routes to avoid inconvenience.

Lok Sabha Elections: When Will Delhi Go To Poll?

In Delhi, all seven Lok Sabha seats will have voting on May 25, in Phase 6. The notification will be issued on April 29, and the last date for filing nominations is May 6, with the withdrawal deadline on May 9.
Delhi has seven seats up for grabs: Chandni Chowk, North East Delhi, East Delhi, New Delhi, North West Delhi, West Delhi, and South Delhi. West Delhi has the most voters, with 24.93 lakh, followed by North West Delhi with 24.76 lakh. The smallest seat, New Delhi, has 14.83 lakh voters.
Vote counting for the 2024 Lok Sabha Elections is set for June 4. There are 13,637 polling stations, and around 1.5 crore people are eligible to vote, including 80 lakh males, 67 lakh females, and about 1200 third-gender electors, who will choose their Members of Parliament (MPs).
