1 dead in early Saturday morning shooting near Teaver Road in Troup County

TROUP COUNTY, Ga. (WTVM) - A murder investigation is underway in Troup County after an early Saturday morning shooting claimed the life of 41-year-old Taneshia Bridges.

According to officials, on April 27 around 2:11 a.m., deputies with the Troup County Sheriff’s Office were dispatched to a home in the 600 block of Teaver Road regarding a person who had been shot and was not breathing. Deputies arrived and found an adult female suffering from a gunshot wound.

Deputies began lifesaving measures on the victim including CPR until fire and ambulance personnel arrived a few minutes later and took over care of the victim.

The victim, later identified as Taneshia Bridges, was transported to Wellstar West Georgia Emergency Department where she unfortunately later died.

Investigators with the Criminal Investigations Division were notified and began processing the crime scene. Officials say multiple shell casings were found outside the home indicating a person or persons shot from the outside striking the victim who was inside.

They also say at the time of the shooting, another female adult and a small child were also inside the home.
