Nelson County Fire Department helps deliver baby

NELSON COUNTY, Va. (WDBJ) - Responders from Wintergreen Fire & Rescue helped deliver a baby on April 23.
Tuesday afternoon, crews were dispatched in reference to a woman, Martha Jefferson, who was ready to give birth.
After reading dispatch notes, the fire chief told the crew, “You guys are about to become a stork crew!”
When Medic Unit 176 was approximately five minutes away, a baby girl was delivered, according to Wintergreen Fire & Rescue.
Paramedic Matysek-Snyder and EMT Brinker helped Jefferson with delivering the baby.
The driver, Doug Bryant, kept everything smooth and steady during delivery, according to medics.
