MIAMI, Okla. — A stretch of South Main Street in Miami was filled with creativity and a sense of community.
The Ottawa County Arts and Humanities Council hosted its annual arts festival.
Around 50 vendors, along with many food trucks set up shop on Main Street.
Attendees also enjoyed games, a petting zoo, circus performers, and live music.
Today’s event also had an opportunity to construct some Route 66-themed artwork in the South Main Street corridor.
“We have nine muralists being painted by professional muralists from all over the country – and some locals – and we also have a community mural where anyone can come paint on it. It’s kind of like a paint-by-number,” said Callie Cortner, Ottawa County Arts & Humanities Council President.
Cortner says this event began in 2017 and was called “Mural Fest”.
But before this year – it underwent a name change and is now called the Ottawa County Arts Festival.
