Mumbai, April 28: Prajwal Revanna, the Member of Parliament (MP) from Janata Dal (Secular) (JDS), who is currently under fire for allegations of sexually assaulting thousands of women, has reportedly fled the country. Revanna, who has been accused of recording and circulating obscene videos, filed a complaint on Sunday, asserting that the videos in question have been doctored. Prajwal is a son of former Karnataka Chief Minister and JD(S) leader HD Kumaraswamy and grandson of former PM HD Deve Gowda.

According to a Mint report, Prajwal Revanna, who is accused of "sexually assaulting thousands of women", has reportedly fled to Germany after the Karnataka government launched an SIT probe. The Congress party made shocking allegations on Sunday, April 28, claiming that a pen drive filled with pornographic videos implicates Revanna in the sexual assault of thousands of women. The videos allegedly show the MP, who is also an NDA candidate, engaging in objectionable acts with the victims. Hassan Sex Scandal: Karnataka Government Sets Up SIT To Probe Involving HD Deve Gowda’s Grandson and JDS Candidate Prajwal Revanna.

Prajwal Revanna 'Sex Video' Row

The Karnataka government decided to form a Special Investigation Team (SIT) to probe an alleged sex scandal involving Hassan MP Prajwal Revanna. The decision comes in the wake of a complaint filed by the Karnataka Mahila Dourjanya Virodhi Vedike with the State Women's Commission. The Chairperson of the State Women's Commission, Nagalakshmi Choudhary, had reportedly written to Karnataka Chief Minister Siddaramaiah and the state police chief, expressing serious concerns over the allegations against Prajwal. A case was registered at Holenarasipur police station under Indian Penal Code (IPC) Sections 354 A (Assault or criminal force to woman with intent to outrage her modesty), 354 D, 506 (Punishment for criminal intimidation), and 509 (word, gesture or act intended to insult the modesty of a woman).

'Videos Morphed to Tarnish Image,' Says Prajwal

Prajwal lodged a complaint, alleging that morphed videos are being circulated with the intent to "tarnish his image and poison the minds of voters." This move comes a day after Karnataka Chief Minister Siddaramaiah called for the formation of an SIT to probe the scandal. Prajwal Revanna Disqualified as MP: Karnataka HC Invalidates JD(S) MP’s Lok Sabha Membership.

Meanwhile, former Karnataka Chief Minister and JD(S) leader HD Kumaraswamy said he welcomed the state government's decision to form an SIT to probe the sex tape case. Kumaraswamy said that both he and HD Deve Gowda have always shown respect towards women and have made efforts to address their complaints. On the other hand, the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) has chosen to distance itself from Prajwal Revanna amidst the controversy surrounding his alleged sex tapes.
