DETROIT, Mich. (WLBT) - The final day of the NFL Draft was held Saturday in Detroit. In total, six players from Mississippi State and Ole Miss were taken in the final four rounds of the draft.

The first player from Mississippi off the board came in the third round, when Mississippi State defensive back Decamerion Richardson was selected by the Las Vegas Raiders with the 12th pick in the round. In each of the last two seasons, Richardson led SEC corner backs in total tackles, with 85 in 2022 and 79 in 2023.

In round five, the first Rebel was selected. DeAntre Prince, a native of Charleston, Mississippi, was selected by the Jacksonville Jaguars with the 153rd overall pick. Prince joins fellow Mississippian Jarrian Jones (Magee), who was taken by the Jaguars Friday night. In his senior season, Prince had one sack, five pass breakups, and an interception.

With round six came three more players off the board. Hattiesburg native Jaden Crumedy went to the Carolina Panthers with the 24th pick in the round, teammate Nathaniel “Bookie” Watson went to the Cleveland Browns at pick 30, and Cedric Johnson was drafted by the Cincinnati Bengals with the 38th pick.
