Eight Penn State football players selected in 2024 NFL Draft

Two other players sign with teams as unrestricted free agents

DETROIT, Mich. — A total of eight Penn State football players were selected during the 2024 NFL Draft, held April 25-27 in Detroit, Michigan. In addition, several other Nittany Lions were signed as unrestricted free agents or invited to team minicamps.

Players drafted include:

  • Olumuyiwa Fashanu, offensive lineman — New York Jets (1st round, 11th pick)
  • Chop Robinson, defensive end — Miami Dolphins (1st round, 21st pick)
  • Caedan Wallace, offensive lineman — New England Patriots (3rd round, 68th pick)
  • Adisa Isaac, defensive end — Baltimore Ravens (3rd round, 93rd pick)
  • Theo Johnson, tight end — New York Giants (4th round, 107th pick)
  • Hunter Nourzad, offensive lineman — Kansas City Chiefs (5th round, 159th pick) 
  • Daequan Hardy, cornerback — Buffalo Bills (6th round, 219th pick)
  • Kalen King, cornerback — Green Bay Packers (7th round, 255th pick)

The Nittany Lions have a total of 46 players who have been drafted in the last seven NFL drafts, the most in a seven-year span for the program since 1991-97 (45 picks).

Penn State has had five or more draft picks in seven-straight years, dating back to 2018. It is Penn State’s longest streak of years with at least five picks since a string of seven years from 1978 to 1984. The Nittany Lions had five or more draft picks for the 33rd time in school history.

Penn State is one of three schools that has had a player selected among the first three rounds of the NFL Draft in 19-straight years, joining the University of Southern California and Louisiana State University.

A total of 389 Nittany Lions have been selected all-time in the draft, which ranks seventh among Division I institutions. Penn State has had 54 players selected since James Franklin's arrival to the program, including 25 taken on the first two days of the draft.

Two players so far have signed with teams as unrestricted free agents, including:

  • Curtis Jacobs, linebacker — Kansas City Chiefs
  • Keaton Ellis, defensive back — Tennessee Titans

In addition, running back Trey Potts received a minicamp invite from the Kansas City Chiefs.
