TUPELO, Miss. (WTVA) – Mississippi coaching legend Bob Tyler died Sunday at the age of 91.
He coached for 45 years, including at Mississippi State, Ole Miss, and Alabama.
Tyler's first coaching job was in his hometown at Water Valley High School.
He also coached at Corinth, Okolona, Meridian, and Senatobia high schools before hitting the college sidelines. He even held the athletic director position at State from 1976 to 1979.
He led the Bulldogs to two 9-win seasons during his time in the maroon and white.
